Gratitude on July

Hello, this is the seventh day, going to the eighth day on my SHN (Stay Home Notice) in Singapore. You can imagine a girl being away from her family for the first time. It’s been a week.

I still haven’t got any homesick symptoms, that is such a relieve.

So, these are the main things that I glad I did:

  1. Spiritual Journey
During these times, I don’t really pursue any of my academics ambition, but instead I focus on my spiritual religion journey on following Jesus.
Upon absence, I attended My Spiritual Journey 1, where (I don’t really know) I was supposed to guided by holy spirit more and getting more and more about Jesus. Had to take a remedial session
It was fun, but was not an easy journey. I haven’t even got into half of the battle yet, but I really craved for more and more praise and worships, getting my eyes swollen due to excessive crying because I know how much He did for me and for the entire human being in this world. I MEAN, HE’S SO UNDERRATED. Let’s keep on praising God for as long as we live.
  2. Morse Code
Yes, this sounds so surprising. Even though I was assigned as an obligatory SCOUT on high school, I wasn’t even interested on learning any of the codes. I just don’t see the probability of me, getting those codes inside my head will do any favor.
Morse Code started to captivate my mind when I wanted to talk in private (the only language we know) with my best friend. Had almost thought on making up a new language but as plain as it sounds, it was a stupid idea so we ended up using morse code since in our school and our neighborhood, no one really knows Morse Code — Or at least that was what we thought, until now.
Believe me, it didn’t last long. We studied morse code to communicate roughly on May. But, as we chat more, the euphoria of using morse code is not as dopamine-releasing as we thought. Instead, we ended up neglecting it right after a week of our intense usage of morse code. Getting to know the code was kind of a thing that I’m grateful though, P.S.: Our usage was deliberately wrong. We don’t use it properly, we made up our own rule. LOL.
  3. ASL
It stands for American Sign Language. I did a bit rough studying a bit. I don’t really enjoy the process of learning due to my fast pace but recently I just found a method to study this faster. Well, at least I still remember how to introduce myself properly.
What I remembered when I last attempted to study sign language was the hoarse voice of my cousin being surprised on my attempt on learning sign language. She then told me that there are various sign languages all over the world and it kind of made me feel like — that’ll be useless if I only study one kind of sing language, right?
NO. I changed my mind after a bit and still continued on my studies about ASL. Ended up procrastinating for roughly 3 months, but recently got back into it when my senior (actually freshmen, but I respect her as my senior because she’s older) got into learning ASL and I think, if I get back to ASL learning, we’ll be able to communicate in our special way (which is so cute, btw, ngl)
    ^ my hyper social-butterfly agitated.

Roughly three major things that I did during lock down days (Starting from March-now) and I got a message regarding my swab test.

The funny thing about it:
I was the only girl out of our group of 4 from my not-so-small city. Like the famous quote: “Ladies first,” then I was assigned for 10.00 a.m. SGT, followed by them roughly on 10.15 and 10.30 a.m. SGT.

Guess they were kind of happy when I was so scared of the swab test. *I’m crying, but I’m happy as long as they are happy. Morever, I’m glad I have topic to write on my wordpress blog and my medium blog (here).

Going to update on the swab test roughly soon, keep on updated on my medium blog. As always, you can catch me up on @/deborahsylvia on Instagram.

Have a nice day/night, wherever you are. Stay safe, and keep on praying to God.
